Completing an Oil Landscape | MFA Reflections | Autumnal Painting Process | Paint & Chat
Join me in this relaxing art studio painting vlog as I chat through my process of completing a landscape painting after a few weeks away from it. I touch on topics like: overcoming my fear of repeating past mistakes; how I lay out my palette with my favourite colours for autumnal landscape painting; making creative choices; what ‘done’ feels like; and how I avoid being overly critical of a newly finished painting.
I also reflect on how some of the theoretical considerations of my MA feed into my choices for this painting, such as: How I’m playing with ideas of romanticism and the colonial picturesque in my painting and how painting on natural linen relates to my research.
